The result last night is difficult to accept for all Madridistas, the truth is that Manchester City completely played Real Madrid off the park with the game appearing as though the Manchester side were in a training session for vast majority of the match, with the Spanish side completing their first pass in the opposition half in the 25th minute of the game.
After that shambolic performance, plenty of reports have since come out regarding Real Madrid’s plans and here are the round-up of them all:
Carlo Ancelotti is set to STAY:
The Italian is set to remain as the Real Madrid coach for next season, as per MARCA and the reliable Mario Cortegana. The latter reported that Carlo’s job appears safe following the Copa del Rey triumph. Onda Cero reports that Real Madrid believe that Carlo Ancelotti is best suited to stay due to it being all of Benzema’s, Kroos’ and Modric’s last season as Real Madrid players next season and he should see out this generation of players.
Benzema, Kroos and Modric will all remain at Real Madrid next season, with their renewals all but officially announced, per Mario Cortegana.
Jude Bellingham reports:
Real Madrid are prepared to submit the official bid to Dortmund to complete Jude Bellingham’s deal. Real Madrid and Jude’s camp have agreed personal terms 2 weeks ago and now it is up to the clubs to get it done but the player has said yes to Real Madrid, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Brahim Diaz:
As Mario Cortegana told Madrid Xtra, only final details are missing for his Real Madrid renewal. This has now been advanced by Radio Estadio.
Striker situation:
Real Madrid’s plan is to give space in the squad to Álvaro Rodríguez. The idea is not to sign an elite striker and keep relying on Benzema for another season, especially during the big games, as reported by Relevo.
Camavinga’s situation:
The French International does not want to play at left-back any longer, as he wants to keep progressing as a midfielder, reports L’Equipe
The left-back situation:
The arrival of Fran Garcia is welcomed by Ancelotti, but he does not consider this enough knowing the club wants to part way’s with Ferland Mendy. The Italian wants the board to sign a top level full-back ahead of the next season.
The right-back situation:
According to ESPN, there will be NO movements in regards to a right-back signing this summer. Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez are set to remain as the right-backs in the squad for next season.
The anger of Florentino Perez:
The president is certainly not pleased with last night’s result with him not being happy with the performance of the ‘veteran players’ who lacked ‘courage’ and ‘leadership’ during the tough night, as per Onda Cero. In addition, Josep Pedrerol stated that Florentino is very angry with the image shown by the team. He did not even speak to the players. It will be an intense summer.
