Asensio produced his 20th G/A for Real Madrid this season tonight with a trademark strike. He was also rewarded with the MOTM award.
Toni Kroos came on immediately after the 2nd half began and completely changed the game for Real Madrid. “Kroos has given the midfield more calmness and control.”, as stated by one of La Liga TV’s commentators. In addition, he completed 7 out of 9 long balls and had 1 big chance created.
Ferland Mendy made his comeback to the starting XI after months of absence. The Frenchman ended up playing just 1 half which is something that was planned according to The Athletic’s Guillermo Rai.
Eduardo Camavinga picked up a knock at the end of the game which resulted in him asking to be subbed off. It remains to be seen if it’s serious or not.
