There was little activity for the majority of the game as Real Madrid defeated Getafe 1-0 on the strength of a long shot by Marco Asensio that was deflected. Up until Vinícius Júnior, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modrić entered the game in the 60th minute, we observed better, more direct football being played. This game has no significance nor for the fans or the players; the only thing that matters is Wednesday night in Manchester. The bad news for Madridistas is Eduardo Camavinga coming off with a hit with a twist in the knee, pending confirmation.
The good news for Madridistas, according to Carlo Ancelotti who talked to DAZN straight after the match ended, is that he confirmed that Eduardo’s Camavinga blow is not serious: “It was just a blow. Camavigna is twenty, He will recover fast. I think ALL the players will be ready for Wednesday.”

A few minutes later a report from the reliable Jose Luis Sanchez stated that Camavinga is being scanned in the locker room. A strange twist has been noticed in his knee in addition to the knock. This information was also later confirmed by COPE’s Arancha Rodriguez.
A huge relief for Madridistas is when Carlo Ancelotti reassured the fanbase in the press conference yet again about Eduardo Camavinga:
“Camavinga will rest tomorrow and will return to training on Monday. Camavinga’s knee is stable. 100%. There’s a bit of pain but it’s nothing.”
On the players that got rest:
“Benzema, Alaba and Rodrygo were tired, that’s why they didn’t play tonight.”
On the starting eleven against Manchester City:
“I have doubts about the centre-backs. The line-up is not the most important thing. Whoever it is, I have a bench with resources. Last year the bench helped us win the Champions League.”
On the current football schedule:
“All coaches complain about the calendar. All of them. Not one doesn’t complain. Something has to be done. Guardiola complains about the schedule. We had to play the first leg with less rest, now it’s their turn. The calendar has a lot of games.”
If Antonio Rüdiger would start on Wednesday night? “He didn’t play because I want him to be fresh vs City. He will START vs City.”
PLAYER TALK:
Marco Asensio: “I try to make the most of the opportunities the coach gives me. I’m happy to equal my best goal tally. Happy to go all out for Wednesday.”
Nacho: “On Wednesday we are playing a final.”
