Today, a new update regarding Jude Bellingham has dropped. This time, the news came from one of the most reliable Borussia Dortmund journalists if not the best — Patrick Berger.
Patrick was a guest on Fabrizio Romano’s Youtube channel for a special episode regarding Real Madrid’s next expected signing, Jude Bellingham.
Fabrizio began the episode by asking Patrick Berger about how close Bellingham’s transfer to Real Madrid is right now. The German reporter answered saying that the deal is very close. Jude has a verbal agreement with Real Madrid on a 6 year deal with all that’s left is the negotiations between clubs.
About the negotiations between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, Berger said that he ‘thinks’ both clubs will find a solution as the relationship between Real Madrid’s president Florentino Pérez and Borussia Dortmund’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is a very close relationship.
Another question by Fabrizio to Patrick Berger was “Why Real Madrid? Why did Jude Bellingham choose Real Madrid?” Berger answered with saying that Jude Bellingham does not want to go to a sort of ‘plastic’ club. He wants to go to a club that is historic, he wants to feel the connection with the fans. Jude is not a fan of clubs owned by ‘Sheikhs’ like Man. City or clubs owned by a country like PSG. He wants a historical club and Real Madrid fit the criteria very well.
Berger also mentioned that Erling Haaland tried to convince Jude Bellinham to join Man. City like he did with Akanji last summer. As we can tell, the attempt with Jude has clearly failed.
Speaking about Haaland, the two journalists were talking about the possibility of the Norwegian reuniting with Jude Bellingham to play at the same club in the future. Berger’s answer was: “If Jude Bellingham really decides to join Real Madrid then why not? We all know that Haaland has Real Madrid at the top and he and his family are dreaming to play there in the future. I can imagine seeing them both play at Real Madrid.”
Patrick Berger’s statements in the episode have surely excited Real Madrid fans.
