How would you describe working with Aurélien?
We began working together since he was 17 years old, so it feels a little bit like seeing my own kid or nephew growing in front of my eyes every summer that he comes back.
Much has change since the first time we worked together but it is always a pleasure because he is a great professional and more importantly a very good person. He loves to be challenged and I love to challenge my athletes, so we definitely meet within the same vision.
We all can be a better version of ourselves Salvador Dali said it best and I always reiterate this quote: “Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.” Because nothing prevents you from trying.
One of Aurélien’s favourite motto is “aim for the highest cloud” and this is a quote that I resonate with a lot. It defines him.

The most impressive part about Aurélien during training sessions:
People always ask whether there are some impressive aspect of training with top professional athletes of the world, having it done for a while and through different sports I always go back to the same point.
Be on time, simplicity, attention to details, how do you work when no one is watching you? will you do that extra rep on your own if you know you did not do it properly, will you cheat yourself ? The great ones don’t! Aurélien doesn’t!
Does Aurélien take inspiration from other athletes?
Truthfully, we never really talk about football! I know he is a big fan of NBA, him and Kounde go to games together. They are both big fans. But I am sure he is inspired by many athletes.
I know he supports the Philadelphia 76ers and he is a big fan of Joel Embiid.
What struck you the most from the first time working with Aurélien?
He is always on time, he pays key attention to all details in order to improve, no cheating during exercises as I mentioned previously this seems ‘simple’ but it is the foundation for success and Aurélien defines this. He has been like this since he was 17 years old. He has always had top discipline and maturity.
What is Aurélien’s mentality like?
I would describe him as a lion or a silent assassin! Here in the states we have a saying “never underestimate the heart of a champion” and Aurélien resonates within that quote. During an interview with AS, Fabrice also described Aurélien by stating: “Working with Tchouameni is like adding gasoline to a Formula 1 car!”
I feel very strong that Aurelien will always step up to any challenges that are faced in front of him. With these challenges he get better from it. He has that mentality.
The end.
