Achraf Hakimi dreams of returning to Real Madrid one day. According to reports coming from L’Équipe, Achraf Hakimi’s most recent performances at PSG have angered the staff and sparked criticism from within. In the Moroccan’s entourage they claim that Hakimi develops in “a system that is not made to value his qualities.” L’Équipe also reports that the Parisian club will consider offers for the right-back during the forthcoming transfer window.
Achraf Hakimi entered the Real Madrid academy when he was eight years old. He progressed through the system and made his debut at the age of eighteen against Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabéu. Although his first season was successful, he later came to the conclusion that a two-year loan at Borussia Dortmund would be ideal for him. Achraf Hakimi could’ve returned to Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, but the club chose to let him go for financial reasons. After Achraf Hakimi left Real Madrid, there were numerous speculations circulating that said the Moroccan player didn’t want to compete for Daniel Carvajal’s starting position or serving as a backup. Speculations that the Moroccan denied a year later, Achraf Hakimi told El Chiringuito De Jugones:
“I have to clarify that people have said a lot, and they’ve said that I didn’t want to go back to fight for my place, but it wasn’t like that.“
“Real Madrid was my home and I would have liked to play there, but the circumstances led to the club deciding otherwise. Everyone knows I would have gone there to win my position.”
“There were other things linked in particular to COVID and Real Madrid that made me leave.”
The Moroccan joined Inter Milan for a cost of €40 million that same summer. Achraf Hakimi helped the Nerazzurri win the Scudetto for the first time in more than ten years by scoring seven goals and dishing out eight assists in 37 Serie A games.

He signed up with Paris Saint-Germain the following summer. The French club’s acquisition cost for Achraf Hakimi reached €60 million. The Moroccan player’s signing has fallen short of expectations, and it appears that he will leave this upcoming summer.
